Sharefield is a heterogeneous group captive insurance company for a discerning risk pool. Sharefield is incredibly unique in that it was created for and is owned by its member insureds. These forward thinking and safety conscious members of QCS Purchasing Cooperative were frustrated with how their employees were treated by traditional carriers when injured and how third party claims were being handled. Their reputation was at stake internally and externally. What’s more, the cost of this insurance “protection” was constantly going up. The founders had gained control over other aspects of their business via group purchasing, and thought they could apply the same concept to this insurance challenge. Sharefield was the result of their efforts.
